Summary Ovarian ultrasound is a more gentle method of examination than transrectal palpation. The ultrasound signs described in our work allow the practitioner to conduct a full ultrasound assessment of the ovaries and determine the probability of pregnancy based on the presence or absence of a yellow body, the likely place of pregnancy, the presence of double ovulation. If ultrasound fails to unambiguously determine the type of ovarian cyst, then clinical signs should be assessed, for example, the behavior of a cow and the concentration of progesterone in blood plasma.
Keywords: ovary, cattle, yellow body, ovarian cysts, follicular cyst, luteal cyst.
