Annotation. Directed cultivation of repair heifers should ensure an optimal set of live weight in all periods of life an animal. The main array of cattle of the Ural region is represented by Holstein black-and-white cattle. Standards for live weight in various periods of life have been developed for the repair of young animals of this and other breeds. As a result of the conducted studies, a significant excess of the normative indicators for the fat mass of heifers in the breeding organi- zations of the Urals was established, which ensures a decrease in milk productivity in the whole region at the level of 7198 kg of milk with a fat content of 3.94% and protein of 3.16%. The maximum results in terms of rearing repair heifers and dairy productivity of cows were noted in breeding organizations of the Sverdlovsk and Tyumen regions.
