The lymphatic and vascular systems are affected, hemorrhages, visceral lymph nodes are similar to blood clots. The spleen is enlarged, loose, with petechial hemorrhages. The chronic course is characterized by skin ulcers, pneumonia, pericarditis, pleurisy and arthritis. ASF symptoms are similar to salmonellosis and porcine erysipelas.
