Summary: The article describes the causes of the development of obstetric pathology in dogs on the example of a 16-year observation in a kennel of golden retrievers. The contributing and immediate causes of the development of birth pathology, the peculiarities of the course of labor during heat stress and hormonal insufficiency are described. The results of assessing the survival rate of newborn puppies during prolonged labor, with multiple and infertility, with pelvic presentation and other problems in childbirth are presented. The analysis of deliveries with operative delivery – cesarean section, its indications and contraindications is given. The structure of health and neonatal pathology in the nursery over a 16-year observation period. The structure of neonatal mortality. The structure of neonatal pathology, accompanied by early mortality of puppies. The description of pathomorphological changes in suddenly fallen puppies is given. The description of histological changes of internal organs with a pathoanatomic diagnosis and causes of death is given.
