Annotation. On the basis of data on the overgrowth of arable land with woody vegetation, economic measures are proposed, taking into account the effective soil fertility. Plantation forest cultivation is proposed on arable land excluded from agricultural use if soil fertility does not provide a grain yield at the level of the average for the municipality. If the effective fertility is higher, it is more expedient to use the arable land for its intended purpose.
