Annotation. Despite the rather rich medicinal flora of the Middle Urals, the issue of introducing new medicinal plants taken from other regions of the Russian Federation, as well as foreign countries, is very relevant. Nigella damask (black) - Nigella damascena L belongs to the Buttercup family – Ranunculaceae Juss. Homeland of Nigella of Damascus – the Mediterranean. The plant is cultivated in the countries of Central and South-East Asia, in North America, in our country – in the European part, in the North Caucasus. Nigella damasskaya is a promising medicinal plant for the Middle Urals. Drugs from Nigella are widely used in medical practice - they are effective for diabetes, bronchial asthma and urolithiasis. A positive effect on the functions of the liver, stomach, kidneys, cardiovascular system, increasing immunity and improving the overall condition of the body was revealed. The Department of plant breeding and breeding has been conducting introduction studies on the productivity of Nigella damasca in the Middle Urals since 2017. The experiment used a seedling method of cultivation. The study showed that in the natural and climatic conditions of the middle Urals, the period of fruit formation is very stretched, and in order to preserve the harvest (Mature fruits open and seeds crumble), seed collection should be carried out in two or three stages, as the fruit Matures.
