Abstract This article presents information on hydroponic crop cultivation technology. Options for improving this technology using automated hydroponic rack farms in an artificial climate are discussed. Various substrate options are studied, and recommendations for their use are provided. Particular attention is paid to the automation of production processes, the creation of optimal climatic conditions, and the rational use of production space. The effect of supplementary lighting on the growth, development, and yield of green crops is examined, and various substrate types are studied and the best one selected.
